I m currently on an extended visit to the US. Although this is my third visit to the US, this visit is significant. I am at a transition period of my life after retirement from public service. I had to get much needed rest and most importantly, take care of and bond with my grandkids.
As time went on, I became extremely bored with doing nothing and not having friends over as in my home country, Nigeria.
I felt that I was wasting time, especially as my grand kids grew more and more independent of me and mostly run to me only for cuddles.
As a natural workaholic, the feeling of not doing anything became the daily chorus of my life.
Until one blessed day.
As I was bemoaning myself, the Holy Spirit told me gently, "Daughter, enjoy the moment".
That did it for me. I immediately repented and began to enjoy each moment.
I do not know the situation you are in right now. Unmet Needs? Debts? Illness? Depression?Betrayals by those you love and trust? Loneliness?, Unemployment? the list goes on and on.
Rejoice not in the situation, but in the moment.
Why?
Rejoice because the moment is the door for transition to a positive level. The dead do not have the moment. Only the living do.
Rejoice because your adverse situation is a phase. It is not permanent. Rejoice because God loves you and is interested in all that concerns you. His angels are ever on hand to change your situation and provide ways out for you.
Don't let dismay and hopelessness have their sway. Arise from the dust and ashes. Enjoy the moment. This too, shall come to pass as long as there's life.
AMEN.
